Christmas in Ponca was celebrated on Wednesday, December 16th. The evening started with a Christmas Parade at 6 pm. Twenty plus entries of all sorts were decorated with lights & proceeded through downtown Ponca. Santa Claus was brought to Santa’s Village by Danny Lund’s team of horses & wagon and was on hand for pictures at the Community Center. Hotdogs & all the fixins were provided to the parade goers along with hot chocolate & cookies.
The Christmas Lighting Contest winners have been announced. First place winners were Neil & Stephanie Von Seggern, 2nd place went to Dennis & Jan Schempp & 3rd place was awarded to Larry Wolf & Becky Parks. Honorable mention goes out to Stan & Carol Leigh, Tyler & Katie Uthof & Tom & Holly Walsh. There are MANY beautiful lights that adorn the houses in Ponca, however, some could not be considered because they were not lit up when the judging was completed on Sunday evening, December 6th. The Ponca Area Community Club would like to thank the community for helping make this year’s Christmas in Ponca – A Community Celebration a huge success!
